| Welcome to Saint John The Baptist Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, Johnstown, PA. St. John's Parish is in the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of St. Josaphat, Parma, Ohio under the Episcopal See of Bishop Robert Moskal. St. John's is one of the oldest Eastern Rite Catholic Parishes in the United States. The Parish had it's beginnings at the turn of the century 100 years ago. Please feel free to attend the Liturgy in our church. You will have the opportunity to worship with us in the Byzantine Rite which has deep roots in Christian Antiquity and steeped in Biblical Traditions. We are Catholics in union with the Pope of Rome. By virtue of our communion with the Church of Rome, we are a Catholic Church that shares the same faith and sacraments of all Catholic people. Being Eastern Rite Catholic, we have a different way of expressing out faith based on customs and traditions.
