Sisters of St. Basil Meet to Plan the Future
Fox Chase Manor, PA - March 16, 2010
Every five years the Sisters of St. Basil the Great hold a Chapter. "A
Chapter is an essential instrument of collegiality, calling
each Sister to participate in the decision-making process
either directly or indirectly.
While in session, it is the highest authority in the
Province." The Kenotic Way
This February 19 – 21, 2010, the whole community (i.e. all the Sisters from all the Eparchies return to the Motherhouse) began the preparations for deliberating on various issues concerning the Sisters of St. Basil the Great. During the June meeting there will also be an election of a new Provincial Administration (i.e. a Provincial plus four counselors).

The February weekend started with Vespers followed by dinner. The theme for the weekend and Chapter in June is –What you need to know is on your lips and in your heart; you have only to carry it out.Ó (Deut. 30: 11-14) Through prayer and discussions the Sisters focused on many of the issues that will effect their future.
The Sisters of St. Basil request your prayers and support during this time of prayer and reflection. We pray that the Holy Spirit may guide the Sisters deliberations in planning for the next five years.
