71st Annual Convention of the League of Ukrainian Catholics of America — October 9-11, 2009 Pittsburgh, PA

Glory be to Jesus Christ!

The Western Pennsylvania Council of the League of Ukrainian Catholics of America is pleased to announce the 71st Annual Convention of the LUC on October 9,10,11, 2009 in Green Tree, a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA to the Most Reverend Hierarchs, Reverend Clergy, Venerable Religious, LUC members, Ukrainian Catholic faithful, and friends of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the United States of America. Please mark your calendars now and plan to attend.

The Convention theme is “CHIRIST LIVES IN ME” from Saint Paul’s Letter to the Galatians 2:20. We are most honored to have His Grace Most Reverend Nicholas Samra (see biography), retired Auxiliary Bishop of the Melkite Byzantine Catholic Church in America, to lead two sessions with dynamic talks on “Stewardship” and “Leadership” that will reflect our theme. A proposed Convention schedule is also enclosed. We pray that after reviewing it, you will want to attend the Convention for Christian fellowship, spiritual blessings, and thanksgiving. The Convention Committee welcomes the input, encouragement, and prayers of Reverend Fathers Valerian M. Michlik and Ivan Chirovsky, pastors of Pittsburgh parishes, and of Monsignor George Appleyard, Dean of the Central Deanery of the Eparchy of Saint Josaphat in Parma.

We know that some LUC members are now limited in their travel abilities and may not be able to attend. But, we all want to know how you are doing. Please take the opportunity to place an advertisement in the Convention journal, or to list your name as a Patron or Booster, so that we may know you are with us in spirit.

We issue a special invitation to the Ukrainian Catholic faithful in the Central, Eastern, and Western Deaneries of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Saint Josaphat in Parma to attend the Convention so that you may fellowship with our guests from outside the tn-state area.

You can make your room reservations, and send in your Convention journal book advertisements or name listing, and your raffle chances, starting now. Please make all checks or money orders payable to LUC CONVENTION 2009, and send them to Nickolas C. Kotow, 6390 Churchill Road, Bethel Park, PA 15102-3 159.
